I have an existing payment plan from last year. Do I need to open a new one for this years taxes?

The IRS only allows one payment plan at a time. So if you have one from last year, and need one for this year, you should call and cancel your other installment plan, and then get a new one that takes the balance from last year and adds this year to it.
