What is a HMA account?

The insurance admin said we had an HMA to cover the expense of blood draws.  What is that?  Isn't that the same as a employer funded HSA?

"HMA" is not an IRS term. It is not the same as an HSA.

However, there is a company that helps employers offer health benefits in the Pacific Northwest - see https://www.accesshma.com/

It is likely that this is a health benefit set up by your employer for you through this company.

However, I cannot tell whether it is an HSA or HRA or MSA or FSA or even another plan - ask your employer.
