These deposits are from the recent stimulus  package. $1200 per adult and $500 per child, dependent on level of income.

1200

Today I received a refund for my 2019 filing which amounted $150 more than I file for refund, in addition to $1200 stimulus deposit last week. What is this additional $150 refund about?

April 15, 2020

Are you gonna have to claim this on your taxes next year?

Why would I only get $154, and not $1200??? I’m confused

@Pickle9374   I calculated it out.  Your AGI must have been $95,920

If you make over 75,000 they subtract $5 for every $100 over 75,000 up to 99,000.

99,000 and over for Single you don't get anything.

The formula I used is

95,920-75,000 = 20,920

20,920 divided by 100 = 209.20

209.20 x 5 = 1,046

THEN max 1,200-1,046=154

@RodriguezHernandez   $2,400 is your stimulus deposit for a Joint return.  For the CoronaVirus.  You can keep it.  2,400 is the max for 2 people.  Your AGI on  your tax return was under $150,000 so you got the max.

Mine was for 507.90 and it was supposed to be 2400 because my husband and I filed jointly. Not sure what to do now.

Was your AGI for Joint $187,842?

April 15, 2020

How is mine only 41.20?!?! How do I calculate my AGI? 40 bucks, man?

April 15, 2020

What if you filed 2 kids and they only gave you 1700 ? I’m trying to figure out how do I get the other $500.

April 15, 2020

Okay because I was confused it says “tax ref” we filed our taxes Sunday and it said we were getting $3700 back but today I checked my account and we had received something for “$2400” exactly so I’m wondering if that is the stimulus check or an incomplete deposit of our refund.

@monamadnessxo

The direct deposit for the stimulus refers to "Deposit IRS TREAS 310-TAX REF *************** IRS TREAS 310-TAX REF[your last name, first name]".

So, yes, it does look like a refund because of the REF but because of your numbers, this is almost certainly your stimulus.

I suspect the IRS programmers borrowed the code from the refund process code, and didn't change this text field.
