Question

What is other employee compensation

I moved to a different state in the middle of 2019 and trying to complete two part-resident state returns. Under my income section which ports from my federal return, there are two sections: wages, other employee compensation. I have a simple W2 with regular income, some retirement contributions and dependent care FSA. I cannot figure out where turbotax got this 'other employee compensation' as it is not present in both my W2. The only amount which it matches to is the dependant FSA contribution, but I thought that it does not count towards income.

I have to split this other employee compensation between the two states and I am at a total loss what this amount is. Any help is appreciated.

Although the FSA is not taxed federally  most states do tax those wages ... you must indicate which state you were in when  the FSA was funded ... if both you must divide the total.

Thank you! So does dependent FSA usually come under other employee compensation in turbotax?

    For state purposes yes.
