If you spouse passed away in 2021 and you have a qualifying child as a dependent on your 2022 tax return then your filing status would be Surviving Spouse.  The standard deduction is available for all taxpayers regardless of the filing status.

According to the IRS, I am a Qualifying Surviving Spouse for two years after the death of my husband. Why does TurboTax keep filing as Single?

Do you have a dependent child?

What was the year of passing?
