If it is asking for a number, then it is likely that it carried over the field "miscellaneous expense" entry from a prior year.  If you don't have any miscellaneous expense this year, you can remove the item.

 

If you entered a number, it may be asking for a description.  Look for the descriptor or the highlighted area of the screen for more information.
