You need the full software installed on your computer to read the .tax2019 datafile

If you just want to see the forms, go back to your Online account and download the PDF file instead.  (Don't download using the EDGE browser though ).  The PDF file can be read by any PDF file reader.

I have a similar problem but your solution will not work for me.

Shortly after I finished my 2019 taxes my computer crashed. I lost the Turbotax 2019 Home and Office software that had been installed on that computer. I also lost the pdf backup file. But by some miracle I still  have the .tax2019 file. How can I read that file or  convert it to pdf?

Please help and please reply to my email [email address removed]

Thank you.

Richard

Re-install H&B on a new computer  (or on the fully-restored crashed computer), start a dummy-file in TTX to make sure you download and install the state that was used in the original tax file, and then you will be able to open and read the .tax2019 datafile there.
