There are several places you can look if you e-filed.  If you mailed it, only you know when you took it to a mailbox unless you saved a receipt from a mailing service like UPS or certified mail.

 

When you e-file, you get back several emails -   The first one will say that your return was submitted.  The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected.  If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.   So check your emails.

 

It will tell you in your account if you e-filed and the date it was accepted.

 

You can check your e-file status:

Or when you print out your return there will be a page of electronic filing instructions that tells you the date you e-filed.
