When I did my taxes - my daughter had an amount from 21 century scholars that they said I needed to claim on her income. Where do in include this income at?

If your daughter's scholarship income was higher than the tuition paid, then she would have taxable scholarship income. You would enter her 1098-T in the Education section just as you did for your own return. The difference is that if you can claim her as a dependent, then she isn't entitled to claim an education credit, but she must still report any scholarship income.

  • Go to the top of your screen and choose My Account.
  • Choose Tools.
  • Choose Topic Search, then type in your topic (scholarship income) and click Go.
