When I filed, it said my transmission didn't go through because I need the updated version. How do I "go to the Online menu and Click for Updates"?

TurboTax online editions update automatically by TurboTax. Please see the below information for reasons you maybe running into this error:

 

  • It is possible a form or schedule may not yet been finalized for filing yet. You can click on the Review tab then it should show the estimated availability dates. You may also find form availability help in the following TurboTax FAQ: When will my forms be ready?
  • Please also be sure all of your information is up to date under Intuit Account portion and you have a US 10 digit phone number listed. You will find instructions in the following link: How do I update my TurboTax account information?
  • This also may occur either when your account is on a billing hold or when Pay With My Refund was accidentally added twice to your shopping cart. For assistance see the following link: Your transmission didn't go through due to a server problem
