Question

when I went to efile paying with my credit card they wanted to send to c ode. When I used it they said I took to long and cannot efile the return very exhausting and confusing. Why can they just accept my user name and password and continue to comple

This just keeps going on and on.. I need to efile my returns.  I have used Turbo Tax for many, many years.  It seems every year the changes just complicate the programs.  I need to efile my returns. Your phone services no longer go passed 5:00pm. does not help those that work 8-5 and have do their taxes in the evening and get all through the return and at the last minute get hung up and cannot efile. So we have weekends only problem Turbo Tax is closed. I WILL BE LOOKING FOR AN ALTERNATIVE SOFTWARE. But in the mean time I need to efile my returns and after 1.5 hours of horsing around I need to speak to a real live person. So I can figure this out. I have never had one issue with paying the State Fee on line and them efile. So why now???

    This is a public Internet forum--mainly a user community forum--not a direct route to TurboTax Support.   Please do not post any personal info in the public forum.   Luckily, it looks like the forum spam filter has removed your phone number above for your protection.  No telling who might have phoned it otherwise.   If you want to remove anything else such as your name, you can click the tiny blue 3-dot icon just to the right of your question title, and in the dropdown menu choose to EDIT.

     

    It's not completely clear what you are referring to, so I'll have to guess a bit.  Are you referring to a 6-digit email verification code that is emailed to some users during the efile process?

     

    If so, you must leave the window open that asks for the code while you go to retrieve the code from your email.   You must use either a second window or a second browser tab to check your email to get the code.      Once you have the code, enter it in the first window (or first tab) that you left open where it asks for the code.   If you close that first window during the process, then that resets everything, and the code will always be seen as expired or invalid.

     

    Another option if you have a smartphone is to leave that first window open on your computer and use your phone to check your email for the code.  And then enter it in the window you left open on your computer.
