Question

When turbo tax provides my estimated tax bill for 2023 after I enter my info to allow it to estimate payments for then, does that estimate include or exclude state taxes?

This is all under the Federal portion of the sidebar for my 2022 taxes and I'm in CA. The header on this screen is "Your Estimated Tax Bill for 2023" and it gives me my income and tax for 2022 and then estimates of the same variables for 2023...

Here's an old note I have.

If you have already been though the state return section, then to prepare the state estimates (I finally found it for California) by clicking on the State Taxes tab.  Then click Edit by your state.  It will say to wrap up and Continue.  Then on the next screen you will get 3 choices:

I'm Done, let's go to review

I've made federal changes let's go over California one more time.  I'd like to view or update a specific area of my California Return.

Pick the last one and then on the next screen scroll down to Other Forms - File Estimates
