Solved

When will my 2016 taxes be filled? I’m not sure what forms need to be finalized? On my end should I be doing anything else?

Please elaborate. You cannot use TT online to do a 2016 tax return now.

Huh?  You could not efile 2016 after Oct 16 (Nov 18 for some filers).  So how did you submit it in December?  Did you mail it?

If you filled out 2016 Online in December you actually were entering it into the 2017 online version.  You have a mess.  See the answer down below.  Scroll down.

Uh oh--are you trying to use the current online software to prepare a 2016 return?  You cannot do that.  You are using the wrong software if you are working on 2016.

Online preparation and e-filing for 2016 is permanently closed.

To file a return for a prior tax year

Only a 2017 return can be prepared online and e-filed.

If you need to prepare a return for 2014, 2015, or 2016 you can purchase and download desktop software to do it, then print, sign,  and mail the return(s)

Remember to prepare your state return as well—if you live in a state that has a state income tax.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS received the return.

Note:  You can clear out the “wrong-year” information that you entered in to the 2017 software and then use the software when you are ready to prepare your 2017 return:
