I may have to change computers and would like to have the CD version so I can reinstall Turbotax later.

Some press reports (see link) have said the retail CD product for 2015 should be in stores November 27.    There will probably be some "Black Friday" deals.

The CD (and download) products for 2015 once again have all the forms and schedules that they did prior to 2014; i.e., the products have reverted to the more functional versions.

You can buy the CD from Amazon or Turbo Tax now.  I haven't checked the stores but they probably have it too.  But if you have the downloaded version you can download it again to any computer for at least 3 years.  And you can copy the downloaded installation file to a flash drive or CD so you can install it again without needing to download it.

Did you already get the download?  Are you on the Advantage program?

Yes, don't know why anyone would want one of the CD's since they only have a bare bones beta version on them which must be updated the moment you install it.  Really is a waste of plastic.  Like VG said you can either re-download as necessary and even save the installation file for future use.

You have to update the downloads too.

True
But if you download and save the .exe file later in the year in (say) October, that .exe file is supposed to contain all of the Federal updates.

Thus, if you back it up, you may be able to re-install it long after TTX stops providing updates, as long as your MAC or PC operating system will take it.  (if you switch Operating systems between MAC and PC, you may be out of luck though)

OF course #2, if you wait that long to re-install, the state files won't be available to download....but the Fed forms should be up-to-date.
