When will TurboTax stop working to complete & file 2017 taxes? Put another way, will TurboTax be available to file 2017 taxes after the October 2018 extension deadline?

You can use the TurboTax online editions to e-file a 2017 tax return at any time on or before October 15, 2018. After that date the 2017 tax return can only be printed and mailed. The TurboTax online editions should be available through the end of October 2018 so that you can download a PDF and/or tax data file from the 2017 tax return.
After the end of October 2018 the 2017 online editions will no longer be accessible since they are being replaced by the 2018 online editions which should be activated sometime in December 2018.
After the 2017 online editions are no longer available there will be several weeks when the PDF and/or tax data files for 2017 will also not be available online to download. These files should again become available for download at approximately the same time as the 2018 online editions become active.
The 2017 TurboTax desktop CD/Download editions will be available for purchase and download for three years after October 15, 2018.
