Do you mean you already have one and just do not know it, or you need to get one?  Do you have employees?  Or do you just need a Tax ID so that you do not have to use your Social Security number for 1099Misc pay you may receive or for someone you babysit for, for instance?

If you do not have employees, your taxpayer ID will be the same as your SSN unless you filed for an employer identification number with the IRS. If you filed for a new number, use that number; otherwise, use your SSN.
