Question

Where do I include my fellowship income? My tax prep last year put it on Schedule 1 as additional income, but this software seems to be putting it elsewhere

The fellowship was not included on W2, 1098T, 1099 or other tax forms.

If you didn't receive form 1098-T, you will report the excess fellowship money as less common income.

1.Open your return

2.Select Federal Taxes
3.Select Wages and Income
4.Scroll down to Less Common Income and select Start or Review
5.Select Start next to Miscellaneous Income 1099A, 1099C

6.Next, select the last listed option Other Reportable Income

7.Did you receive any other taxable income, click Yes

8.Other Taxable Income: Enter your description and the amount and click Continue and Done.

Are my scholarships, fellowships, or grants taxable?
