Where do I look on my 1040 to determine if I filed as independent or dependent?

If you were listed on someone else's income tax return, then you would be a dependent.  If you filed your own income tax return, look in the standard deduction section in the middle of page I to see if you checked the box that states someone else can claim you.  If that box was checked, then you are a dependent.
