In TurboTax Online, report Medicare part D insurance payments under Medical insurance premiums at the screen How much did you spend on insurance premiums.

  • Click on Federal down the left side of the screen.
  • Click on Deductions and credits  down the left side of the screen.
  • Scroll down to Medical and click the down arrow to the right.
  • Click Start / Revisit to the right of Medical expenses.
  • Cycle through the screens to the proper screen.

There is no down arrow to the right. When I get click tothe right it does not let me type in the box The box shows $0.  I think it expects to see an HSA but we don’t have HSA. Under medicare there is a place if its deducted from Social Security but we’re not doing that.

What drop down box are you looking for? Are  you entering a 1099-SSA?

The Free Edition does not include itemized deductions Schedule A so you would have to upgrade. Before you do consider that only medical expenses int excess of 7.5% of your adjusted gross income are deductible and then your itemized deductions must exceed your standard deduction to benefit.
