Where do you report 199A income on K-1 report on statement A?

I have a K-1 that has a -1029 entry in Box 20 with a Code Z. TurboTax's error check indicates that no section 199A Income has been entered on Statement A. Is this correct? If so, where do I find Statement A?

When you enter your K-1, you have to enter the number in box 20 and select Code Z.

Refer to the TurboTax article Where do I enter a Schedule K-1 that I received? for more information.

I get an error code that states: Box 20 code Z has been indicated but no section 199A income has been reported on Statement A
Where do I report 199A income on statement A?

For IRS Schedule K-1 (1065), at the screen Enter Box 20 info, select code Z Section 199A information.  A value does not have to be entered.

Then click Continue.

At the screen We need some information about your 199A income, click the box to the left of the item to be entered.  An entry box will open.  You may be entering:

  • Ordinary business income (loss) from the enterprise,

The values to be reported come from Statement A which the preparer of the K-1 would include with your K-1 income materials.

Enter these values for the qualified business income deduction to be calculated.
