Where is free version for income eligible? why is it demanding uprade because i had unemployment?

You will not be able to use the Free Edition of TurboTax if you have unemployment income. You can however, use one of the free versions available on the IRS site.

For totally free filing you MUST use one of the IRS FREE FILE options you get thru the IRS site ONLY ... the TT free version doesn't support unemployment income.

@mattyd1963 - to answer the specific question, the way turno tax prices its product, if you require Schedule 1, 2 or 3, that necessitates an upgrade from the 'free' product. Unemployment goes on Schedule 1.
