Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Other Tax Situations
Scroll down to Other Return Info
On Identity Protection PIN, click the start button

Or enter ip pin in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to ip pin

The IP pin will only come up if you are electronically filing your return(s). TurboTax will ask for it when it is preparing to transmit your Federal return. If you electronically file your State(s) at the same time, you file your Federal IP Pin will default to your State file(s).

When you electronically file your Federal return you MUST file your State(s) at the same time, or you will have to file your State return by printing it out, manually signing the forms

(instead of being able to use the IP Pin) and mailing it in when you decide to file.
