Which Turbotax desktop version to ammend for 2022 tax return?

I need to ammend my 2022 tax return. I use desktop version of turbox in my computer.

Question 1: Do I run my turbox tax 2022 from my computer to do this? Or do I use the latest turbotax 2023?

Question 2: After amend the federal tax for 2022, do I need to amend the state tax for 2022 as well?

Question 3: When filing an ammend for my 2022 tax return electronically, does turbo tax charge a fee for it?

You will use your 2022 software. If the changes effect the state, you will need to amend the state as well, otherwise, no. TurboTax only supported current year e-filing of amended returns. You will paper file your 2022 amendment.

If you want to make changes or add a document to a tax return that has already been submitted, you should follow these guidelines.

You must first wait until the initial return is completely processed.
You will have to use the same TurboTax account that you used for the original tax return.
Once you begin your amendment, you'll see your original return. 
The refund calculator will start new at $0 and only reflect the changes in the refund or tax due
Only make changes to the areas of your return that need amending.
You have three years from the date you filed your return or two years after you paid the tax due (whichever is later) to file an amendment

Hi CatinaT1,

How do I know if my amendment of 2022 tax return affect my state return? If the total state refund stays the same after I amend to 2022 return, can I assume that the state is not changed and no need to amend state return?
