Question

Why am a charged taxes for the 1099-div when I haven't received a penny!?

Turbo Tax used to be easy but is so damn complicated now.  And the cost to file is ridiculous when no one is doing the work but yourself.  What do they consider FREE.  I don't know anyone who has filed for free.

You can delete the Form 1099-DIV if there is no income reported to you on that form in the current year. It may be carried over from the previous year. Then , you can use the Tools option on your left menu bar and then Tax Tools and choose the Switch to Free Edition if you qualify for that:

 

 

To delete the Form 1099-DIV:

 

1. Choose the Tax Tools option on your left menu bar

2. Choose Tools

3. Choose the Delete a form option under Other Helpful links 

4. Find the Form 1099-DIV in your list of forms and delete it
