Why am I paying the 114 charge for self-employed. I simply have a business as extra income. Bottom line, I'm not self-employed

I already did that early on.  The result is I'm still being forced down the self-employed return road.  I do not want to start over as I don't want to risk losing what I've entered nor possibly getting the same result.  Can u credit my account so I only pay the Premier Rate?

If you haven't filed yet, you can downgrade using the Clear and Start Over feature but bear in mind that the different TurboTax "flavors" handle different tax situations and their associated forms.

For example, if you want to downgrade from Deluxe to Federal Free Edition and you're itemizing (Schedule A), you can clear and start over with the free edition, but once you enter your itemized deductions in the free edition, you'll be asked to upgrade to Deluxe.

Here is a short list of some common tax situations and the online products that now uniquely support them:

If you are looking at TurboTax Federal Free Edition, keep in mind that this version is intended for taxpayers with very simple returns (Form 1040EZ filers with the standard deduction), for example first-time filers and students.

Not seeing a "follow-up". What other questions or concerns do you have?

It appears in the 2017 version for TT, that if I have a schedule C that TT considers me self-employed?  What is the cost if I do a Schedule F?

Still Self Employed. You can see what version supports which forms here: <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/">https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/</a>
