Why are my expenses not reducing my federal tax due

I'm adding mileage deduction but my tax due isn't changing

If you are an employee (you have a W-2), mileage expense is no longer deductible on your federal return (but may be on your state return.)

If you are self-employed or an independent contractor you may not be seeing any impact if your net profit has already been reduced to zero.
