Why are you charging me 80 in fees if it’s supposed to be 40$

This is mainly a user community forum, but we can help explain your fees.   There are a couple of things that could explain a fee of $80.

In the Deluxe Edition, a Federal return is currently $40, and a state return is $40.   Did you prepare both?

Or did you choose to pay for a Federal return out of your Federal refund?  If so, that option has an additional $40 service fee ($45 for California filers.)     If you chose that payment option, we can tell you how to remove that "pay out of refund" fee and avoid the $40 service fee.  Then you can pay by credit/debit card or a prepaid debit card you can buy in a store.
