Why aren't my state taxes approved?

Hi there! I did my federal and state taxes together and completed them on the 19th of January, I believe. I came back to check on the timeline and it says my State taxes aren't finished. Confused because I paid for them to both be done.

There are usually two main reasons as to why you cannot file your state tax return or it is showing as incomplete:

1. Until your federal return has been processed and accepted, your state will show as incomplete. Once the federal return has been accepted your state return will then show as processing and then either accepted or rejected by your state. There is a great FAQ about this, click here: https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/3302294

2. Your state tax forms may not be finalized yet. Look for your state and see when the forms will be finalized: https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/3319879. If the state form is showing them available, then you can log back into your return and submit the state return. If for some reason you are not able to log back into your return follow the steps below:

1. Type in https://myturbotax.intuit.com into your web browser

2. Click on the My Turbo Tax which is in the white banner at the top of the page

3. Under your 2016 statuses, you will see under something’s you can do ‘add a state’, click on that

4. Click on the ‘file tab’ follow the prompts
