Why can't the irs determine my eligibility for the stimulus payment

Are you using the Get My Payment tool from the IRS? Currently, the IRS Get My Payment tool is experiencing a very high volume of traffic due to the stimulus, and many people are receiving this message. Please keep checking back periodically.

 

TurboTax also has a tool to see if you qualify for the stimulus:  Stimulus Registration.
