Why cant i claim my niece as a dependent? shes 16, its telling me that she supported herself and she hasnt.?

Please carefully review the information you entered for your niece in the Info section of TurboTax. There is a question asking Did she pay for most of his living expenses? 

 

If you supported her, the answer to the above question must be NO.
