Why did it have 8978.00 at the top of the screen

And i don't stay in d.c and i am not a first time home buyer. So why did it say that i will get more if i pay 50 dollars more to file

The Federal Refund/Due Meter at top left hand side of your screen is an estimate only.  It will change as you continually input data.  You may hide this number if it is distracting while completing your return.

 

 

You can change anything that you have entered in TurboTax provided you haven't filed your return yet just by revisiting the area where you entered in it.
