why do i have payment vouchers attached to my return and do I have to send money in if I don.t want to?

If you have the penalty for underpayment of estimated taxes in the current year, TurboTax prepares vouchers so that you can make estimated tax payments and avoid the penalty next year under the safe harbor. You do not have to use the vouchers- if you know your income will not be as high, or if you adjust your withholdings. You can also make the estimated payments directly with the IRS.
