Question

Why do I keep seeing 'Needs review'?

HI all, I see a nagging problem I hope you can help with. I help my Mom with completing her taxes with Turbo Tax - she is on Deluxe/Windows, I am on Premier/Mac, if that matters. Periodically, every few days or so, I will save her tax file, exit Turbo Tax on her computer, copy it and the same file preceded by the tilde (~) to my computer (as they seem to be the only files updated), so I can review her taxes or research a question for her on my own computer. If I make any changes I then copy the file back to her computer for her continuing use. (that doesn't happen much).

Yet, if I look at the summary page of either Income or Deductions on her computer/file, there are no lines that say 'Needs review'. Yet when I copy the same file to my computer and open it, I will see maybe 5-6 lines on either Income, deductions or both that say 'Needs review'. Why is that, and ho can I stop it? Thanks!

Can't say for sure both one thing to check on both computers is Top Menu Bar -> TurboTax -> About TurboTax -> More Info.  And make sure that the build date and last modified dates are the same for both.

They are the same. Could something be stored in cookies? That wouldn’t make sense...

Cookies are a browser feature, not desktop software (there are binary cookies in the users Library)  but they are used for the application itself and not individual tax returns.)
