Question

Why does it ask for a state but there is no option for my state but it also won’t let me just skip or leave it blank? It will keep saying needs review?

Yes, if you enter part of the state information in TurboTax, the program will insist you enter all of it, even if it doesn't apply.

I am assuming you are having trouble with Form W-2 entries. If it is something else, respond back with details of what you are working on.

If box 17 is blank or zero on your W-2, you can leave boxes 15, 16 and 17 blank. Not zero, just blank.

You must be entering a Form 1099-R if there are boxes 14,  15 and 16 for state tax information.

Delete the Form 1099-R and re-enter manually to remove the message from TurboTax for an entry in those boxes.
