Question

Why does it tell me that the direct debit option is not available to me? I've been filing with Turbotax for 15 years and it has always been available?

My only options to pay my federal taxes are "Pay by Check" or "Request an IRS payment plan".  "The direct debit option is not available to me.  I only owe $1193, last year I owed over $3000 and direct debit was available?

Are you filing by mail?  You can always select Pay by Check, and then go to the iRS website and do a direct debit there.
