Why does my return keep getting rejected for "wrong" IP PIN #? I am using the same I have had every year!

An IP PIN is a six-digit number assigned to eligible taxpayers that helps prevent the misuse of their Social Security number on fraudulent federal income tax returns.

 

A new IP PIN is issued to the taxpayer every year.

 

To obtain your IP PIN you should go to: Get An Identity Protection PIN (IP PIN).
