Question

Why does my search feature not have the "jump to"?

All the help videos say to click on the "jump to". I am trying to find where to enter my 1098 for mortgage and the video says to click "jump to" but it does not show up for me.

In the search menu, type "1098" no spaces, hit enter/return. You should then see it.

This doesn't work. I entered "8995-A", "8995", and "form 8995" and in each case it takes me to a help topic. The Turbotax search has always taken me to the form I'm looking for in the past. Now all it does it take you to help topics.  That's what the "Help" at the top of the window is for.

No, not every topic has a Jump to link and even when one exists, it sometimes doesn't work based on your browser or program version.

Form 8995 does not have a Jump to link because the form relates to multiple types of income that may be on your tax return.

If you are using the Desktop version (software installed on your computer) of TurboTax, you can use the Forms icon in the upper right corner to access the form:

  1. Click on the Forms icon in the upper right corner.
  2. Find Form 8995 or 8995-A in the list on the left, highlight it.
  3. Form 8995 will appear in the reading pane.
  4. Editing in Forms mode is not recommended, but this is a valuable tool to understand the calculations in the return.
  5. Click the Step-by-Step icon in the upper right corner to return to the interview.

If you are using TurboTax online, you will need to access the section that has the Qualified Business Income to revisit the questions for Form 8995.
