Why does my South Carolina State credit show EITC $2169 but my refund amount only show $269?

A credit is subtracted from the tax that would have been due had you not received the credit.

So if the tax due would have been 2,438, but you are getting an EITC credit of 2,169, your tax due is reduced to 269.
