The IRS obtains the Name, Social Security Number, and Birth Date of individuals from the Social Security Department data base. Your wife needs to check with the Social Security Department to see what they have for her date of birth.  If it is incorrect, she needs correct it on their records. The correction does not automatically update the IRS records.

You will need to mail in your Federal and State returns. You can change the filing option in the last steps of filing steps. When you print off the return the cover sheet will indicate where you mail your Federal and State returns.

When you mail in the returns you will need to attach a copy of your W-2's, 1099-R's and any other form that shows withholding. You are not required to mail in a copy of the Social Security Benefit Statement Form SSA-1099.
