Question

Why does Turbotax think I need to file form 8915-B if it has been 4 years since I took an IRA Withdrawal?

I took a IRA distribution four years ago and filed form 8915-B for three years.  This year (the forth) Turbotax is again wanting me to file form 8915-B.  That said all the form has is Line 10 "This account can be carried back to reduce the amount subject to tax in a prior year"

My read was that you only had three years from the IRA withdrawal date to amend a prior year tax return to re-contribute to the IRA.   As this is the forth year, this seems to be in error.

It sounds like an error but it is not. Some people received their qualified 2017 distribution in 2018 so this is year 3 for them. Most people, like you, are done with the form. You can delete it. See How to Delete
