Why doesn't Turbo Tax ask me if DIV amount is mine or my spouse's?

Yes, TurboTax asks who owns the 1099-DIV if you are filing a joint return, but you will only see this the first time a particular 1099-DIV is entered. See the image below.

If you go back to review the 1099-DIV, you won't see the ownership box again. If you roll the 1099-DIV from last year, the owner information doesn't show. If you import the information, the owner should be part of the import.

When you file jointly, it doesn't really matter who the dividends belong to, but it is always good report everything accurately.
