Question

Why is Financial Information Received but not in Turbotax

Can anyone answer why I cannot get my financial information into TurboTax?  I follow the directions on the web page TurboTax opens.  The TurboTax web page then says the connection was successful and they got the data.  It says I can return to TurboTax.  But, the TurboTax program says the import was unsuccessful.  I've tried this several times with the same results.

If you are using TurboTax Online, try importing using a different browser.

See the following TurboTax Help articles for potential fixes:

Thank you for your reply.  I resolved the issue.

I am using a downloaded version of TurboTax.  When I tried to import financial data, the program opens a web page.  I then opened my financial institution web page (this was the error).  I went back to the web page TurboTax opened and selected the button to transfer the information.  A message displayed saying the data was received successfully.  However, the actual TurboTax program said there was an error.

I discovered I need to have the TurboTax web site open my financial institution web page for the transferred data to be imported into the TurboTax program.  This is the procedure I used:

    • Select to transfer the data in the TurboTax program.
    • Allow the TurboTax program to open a web browser.
    • In the web page, select the button to transfer the information.  Do not open your financial institution web page.
    • Enter your financial institution credentials on the separate window that opens.

The web page transferred the data and the TurboTax program successfully received the data.
