Why is it taking forever for the data to save it's been like 15 minutes

Go ahead and refresh the page.  It should only take a minute to save the data.  There was probably a brief loss of connection, but all your data will be saved.  If you were in the process of transmitting your return and the transmission did not go through, you can simply resubmit the return.
