Why is it that my Adjusted Gross Income is greater than the overall level of income for the year?

How could it be higher than the overall income level?

Your adjusted gross income consists of more than just your earned income for 2016. Adjusted gross income includes all of your taxable income, such as interest income that you earn through your investments. Please refer to the following Turbo Tax article for additional information.
