The "homestead exemption" applies to local real property taxes, not income taxes - for those who qualify, a certain portion of their principal residence's property value is exempt from property tax. 

 

TurboTax programs are designed to prepare income taxes - federal, state and some city/school returns - not property taxes.  TurboTax may use the amount you pay in property taxes (for state & local tax deductions), but it does not have anything to do with how those property taxes are calculated.
