Question

Why isn't TurboTax accepting responsibility for their poor programming?

I saw your response to the Excess social security (Line 71). i am quite certain that i did not enter and my and my wife's W2's together. I have used TurboTax for many years and have never had an issue till 2015.Not happy and won't be recommending or using TurboTax in the future. Seems that quite a number of your clients are suffering the same fate as I am. Responsibility for your software lies squarely on your shoulders and the fact that your software allows your clients, those the rely on your product, to submit a return with an error is inexcusable. I will be finding a more responsible, reliable solution to prepare my taxes for 2017.

Disappointed,

Sorry but this is 100% a data entry error by the user every time ... you failed to indicate who the W-2s be longs to correctly thus incurring this error.   Not sure how much clearer the program can be in the input screens or on the warning screen ... you really must take responsibility for your failure to read the screens presented ...

You can review what you entered by reviewing the W-2 entry worksheets ... just save a PDF of the return with the worksheets to see your data.

And this is what the 2015 warning screen looked like ... as you can see the program got changed to make this easier to understand  but some people still miss read the screen ...
