TurboTax Free is for simple returns with no additional schedules or forms attached. It's possible that, even with just a W-2, you may have additional forms or schedules that were needed to complete your return. For example, if you contributed to retirement and qualified for the retirement savings contribution credit or if you contributed to an HSA and needed to complete the Form 8889.

To view the forms included with your return:

    - Log in to your account

    - On the Tax Home page, click Review/Edit or Pick up where you left off on any of the tax return topics to open your return

    - On the left hand panel, click on Tax Tools (you may have to scroll down)

    - Click Tools

    - Click Delete a form

Scroll through the list of forms. If you see any additional forms or schedules that go with the return, that's likely why you do not qualify for TurboTax Free. Click here for more details on what scenarios qualify for TurboTax Free.

Additionally, you may qualify for TurboTax Free but have added additional items to your return. Add-ons such as MAX benefits, live expert help, and early refund deposit all have additional fees. To see what's included in your TurboTax fees:

    - Log in to your account

    - On the Tax Home page, click Review/Edit or Pick up where you left off on any of the tax return topics to open your return

    - On the left hand panel, click on Tax Tools (you may have to scroll down)

    - Click Tools

    - Click My Fees (fourth blue box)
