You can leave the Form W-2 section as not started if you do not have that kind of income. If you have already begun to enter, you use Delete Forms to make sure there is not partially completed form in the return.

  1. In the left menu, select Tax Tools
  2. Select Tools
  3. Select Delete a form
  4. Scroll to the Form 1099 or W-2 that is duplicated and click Delete on the right
  5. Then scroll to the bottom and select Continue with my return

I am having the same issue. I am filing a Schedule C with the Self-Employed option, however TurboTax is automatically inputting a W-2 for me to file as well. I do not have a W-2. I was able to delete the form successfully given your instructions. However, after continuing to my wages and income tab, the W-2 is still showing up, but now as *not started*. Is there a way to permanently delete the W-2 line?

If you deleted the W-2 form and do not have a W-2 form, you don't need to do anything more in this section.

Ignore the message "Not started" on the summary screen and complete your return with the information that you have. It only appears that way because nearly everyone has a W-2.
