Why was my refund reduced by $623 due to a change in the amount claimed as recovery rebate credit?

They reduced my refund by $623 stating they changed the amount claimed as recovery rebate credit. I'm not sure why. I received the first two stimulus checks for $600 each.

Please check if you claimed the Recovery Rebate Credit on line 30 of Form 1040

If you received the first and second stimulus payments then you cannot claim the Recovery Rebate Credit and the IRS will reduce the refund amount. If you had the Recovery Rebate Credit on your return then the amount was included in your total refund amount on line 34.

The first stimulus was 1,200 and the second stimulus was $600.
