Did you enter education expense that included scholarships?  That may have increased your income if the scholarship was taxable.

Look at your tax return, Form 1040, to see where the additional income was reported.

You can view your Form 1040 at any time. Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the screen. Click on Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Click on Preview my 1040 on the left side of the screen.

OR -

To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the userID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show.  Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

another possible reason,  excess 401k contributions returned.

we can't see your return so we are groping in the dark.   do not post personal info on this public website

To further grope in the dark, note that not only are excess HSA contibutions added back as Other Income, but so are HSA distributions that were not for qualified medical expenses.

The only way to know is to do what DoninGA says: got to Preview my 1040, and then look to see on which line the extra income appears.

Note that when you say "total income" if you are referring to line 6 on the 2018 1040, note that line 6 includes not only your W-2 amount(s) from line 1 but also the amounts from line 2-5, as well as the amount from line 22 of Schedule1 (form 1040)  (this is easy to miss unless you look closely).

An adjustment for scholarships will appear on line 1, typically with a 3 or 4 letter abbreviation to the left of the dollar amount (like "SCH", I think). Other adjustments like for excess 401(k) and HSA contributions will appear first on line 21 on Schedule 1 (1040), which will carry to line 6 on the 1040.
